Eisley fans that waited in anticipation for a band update to be posted via video Thursday were met with bittersweet news, as the members announced that their third full-length album would not be finished in time for an ’09 release. However, they did confirm a pre-album tour this fall with Say Anything.

Band members, siblings Sherri, Stacy, Chauntelle and Weston DuPree and their cousin Garron DuPree, said in the video that they are hoping for a late-winter release at best, or an early spring release at worst.

Keeping it in the family, Eisley will tour as main support for Say Anything, fronted by Max Bemis who married Sherri Dupree in April. The tour will run from Oct. 14 – Nov. 23, with pre-sale tickets available Aug. 10 and regular sale tickets on Aug. 19.

The announcement comes as no surprise to fans following members of both bands on Twitter, who noticed hints between Sherri and Max in early July. But the tour also makes sense to the label, as both bands will be promoting the release of their third albums.

“Instead of sitting around waiting for an Early 2010 album release, we began talking immediately about setting up the record by touring (marketing) this Fall,” wrote Eisley manager Boyd DuPree in a blog post.

“This is (Say Anything’s) headlining tour to promote their third, much anticipated album…Since it’s an underplay tour, shows will likely sell out giving Eisley opportunity to reach/strike hard at a broad cross section of enthusiastic, open-minded fans.”

In an effort to entice Eisley fans to come out for a support tour, a limited edition four-song EP will be on sale at Eisley’s merch booth only during the tour, which will include 2 songs from the record, a garage band demo and a Max Bemis cover Eisley’s “Telescope Eyes.” The EP will also be released digitally and available as an iTunes exclusive.

Upon completion of the support tour, Eisley will hit the road again, this time as a headlining act, to promote its new LP during the winter. Opening acts for this tour have yet to be announced.

Tour dates are posted on www.eisley.com and www.sayanythingmusic.com.
