Banner Pilot to release second LP, first on Fat Wreck Chords

CollapserCover250_rgbMinneapolis punk rockers Banner Pilot are set to release the band’s second full-length studio album Collapser Sept. 1. This will be the band’s first release since signing with Fat Wreck Chords.

Banner Pilot’s first LP, Resignation Day, is an honorable nod to early skate-punk, featuring heavy melodic guitars and scratchy pop vocals. Hints of Face to Face, Jawbreaker and Fenix TX can be heard in the band’s music.

Collapser is sure to be nothing less than a continuation of that sound, based on the album’s first release, “Greenwood.”

“Greenwood” has a much more polished sound than anything on Resignation Day, but that is expected since the band is now with a larger label. However, what hasn’t changed is the band’s straightforward punk sound, complete with sing-along choruses and a breakdown that is sure to work great in a live set.

Banner Pilot will play a record release show at Minneapolis’ First Avenue on Sept. 4 with The Framed, Amen and the Hell Yeahs and The Dirty Hits.

“Greenwood” is now available for download at http://www.fatwreck.com/record/detail/745.
