It’s that time of year again.
As the temperatures rise across the country during the summer, so do the number of music festivals and tours. And what would the summer be without The Vans Warped Tour, now in its 18th year of existence.
The tour will stop in Houston this Sunday, July 1 at the Reliant Center Parking Lot.
During its early years, the tour featured bands predominantly from the punk genre (Pennywise, NOFX, Bad Religion, Less Than Jake, etc.) and a number of halfpipes where professional skateboarders would display their skills.
Today, the skate ramps are long gone and the musical lineup is much more diverse, hitting every alternative genre from screamo to hip-hop.
The named headliners for this year’s event are Taking Back Sunday, New Found Glory, All Time Low, The Used and Yellowcard.
Other must see acts are Bayside, Anti-Flag, Anthony Raneri, Senses Fail, Pierce the Veil and Four Year Strong.
